Our Team
Compassionate Care, Evidence-Based Practice
Meet the licensed clinicians at Vantage Counseling LLC, dedicated to helping you find clarity, resilience, and steady support.

Owner & Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor
Paul Garn, LCPC
I care about people, clarity, and steady support. I believe people grow best when they feel understood and respected, and when they have space to be honest. I also know what it's like to face uncertainty and try to rebuild confidence. Those experiences taught me that clarity and compassion matter, and they guide the way I show up for the people I work with.
For over 10 years, I've helped teens, adults, couples, and families slow down, understand what's happening, and regain a sense of control when life feels overwhelming. Clients often describe my presence as calm and grounding. They appreciate that I help them make sense of complex situations without pressure or judgment. Whether someone is dealing with anxiety, relationship stress, trauma, or major life transitions, my goal is to offer a clear and supportive space where they can move forward with confidence.
My approach is collaborative. You are the expert on your own life, and I bring training in psychology, relationships, and human development. We combine those strengths to build a plan that fits who you are. I care deeply about the role relationships play in long‑term wellbeing, and I work to create a space where you feel safe, understood, and supported. If you want clear direction, emotional steadiness, and practical tools for real‑life change, you don't have to navigate it alone. You only need a place to begin, and together we can take the next step toward feeling grounded and capable.
“My goal isn't to fix you — it's to help you discover the strengths you already have and build the life you want.”

Licensed Professional Counselor
Kristen Fisher-Looyenga, LPC
Rupture within relationships can feel overwhelming to repair and prioritizing well-being can feel unattainable. The demands of a hurried world can interfere with our innate need to feel connected to ourselves, others, and the environment around us. As your counselor, I view myself as a collaborative guide to support you in building resiliency, self-awareness, and updating unhelpful patterns in your lifestyle and in your relationships.
I completed my Masters in Marriage and Family Counseling from Gonzaga University and I'm a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in the state of Idaho. I feel privileged to work with couples, families, individuals, and adolescents from all backgrounds navigating life transitions, relationship concerns, parenting conflict, grief, anxiety, and depression. I hold a trauma-informed and attachment-centered lens, believing all humans need to be heard, accepted, and feel a sense of belonging.
I value evidence-based theories and interventions to support my clients in reaching their goals and my work is guided by emotionally focused therapy (EFT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and the Gottman Method. I have advanced training in EFT for couples and use components of the Gottman Method to support the process of learning new skills. I'm a trained Circle of Security facilitator and enjoy leading groups for parents and caregivers. I embrace the diversity each of my clients brings into the counseling space and honor your unique story.
I'd love to meet you and offer a free 15-minute consultation. I look forward to joining you on your growth journey.
“As your counselor, I view myself as a collaborative guide — here to help you build resiliency, self-awareness, and a deeper sense of belonging.”

Our Therapeutic Philosophy
Three core principles guide everything we do at Vantage Counseling.
Person-Centered Care
You are the expert on your own life. Our role is to provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences honestly. Every aspect of your therapy — from the goals we set to the pace we move — is guided by what you need.
Evidence-Based Practice
We use therapeutic approaches that have been tested and validated through rigorous clinical research. This means you can trust that what we do in session is more than just talk — it is structured, purposeful, and proven to help people make meaningful change.
Strength-Based Perspective
Therapy isn't only about identifying problems — it is also about recognizing and building on the strengths, resilience, and resources you already possess. We start from the foundation of what is working in your life and build from there.
